Start with these common questions and our answers
Who can play? Anyone from any league can play, even if you didn't play Little League spring season. Birth dates must be between 9/1/2010 for baseball or 1/1/2011 for softball and 8/31/2021.
What are the age groups? Tee Ball (age 4-6), Minors (7-8), Little Majors (9-10), Majors (11-12), Intermediate (11-13) (Baseball only), Juniors (13-14).
How can I determine my age group? This is a developmental program to prepare for next spring, so the age groups are based on 2026 age charts. You can request to stay in 2025 age division by sending an email to the league address. Please see the
Little League Age Determination Date information page for further details.
What is the overall timeframe? Practices start the week of July 28, games are August 11-October 6 (no games on Sept. 1).
When are practices? Practices are Tuesday or Thursday evening (date and time for each team will be set when we know how many teams we have).
When are games? Games are Sunday at 1 or 3 PM. Depending on the number of teams we have, some games may be played at West Portage LL.
What is the cost? $100 per player.
How do I become a coach? Register in the system as a coach. We will request a background check for you to complete. Also, complete the Little League Abuse Awareness training and/or provide a certificate of completion, and the same for the CDC Heads Up concussion training for youth sports.
Are there evaluations/tryouts? How are teams formed? Evaluations of pitchers and catchers will be held before teams are built, so plan to be there if you already play those positions or if you are interested in playing there. Those players will be drafted by the coaches and then the rest of the players will be assigned to teams. We will take into account as much as we can the requests made on the registration form for placement with a teammate, coach or league players.
Will we need to work concessions? We are asking teams to work concessions on at least one of their game days. More details will be provided to registered participants.
What do I need to be able to play? You really only need a mitt/glove, pants, and shoes. We will provide bats, helmets, and balls for use during the games as well as jerseys and hats. You may wear any type and color of baseball or softball pants. Shoes can be tennis shoes - especially for tee ball and minors - or molded cleats. Metal cleats/spikes can only be worn by 50/70 and Juniors.
When will we know our teams and schedules? As soon as we are able, hopefully two weeks before practices start.
